Norland Unwrapped: Norland Diploma (April 2026)

Unique to Norland, the Norland diploma equips students with the practical, hands-on skills needed to become exceptional Norland Nannies and early years practitioners. Established in 1892, the Norland diploma was the first childcare training of its kind. While it has continually evolved to reflect the latest knowledge and best practice, it retains the traditional values at the heart of Norland. The diploma integrates seamlessly with our BA (Hons) Early Childhood Education and Care, enabling you to apply academic theory directly to real-world practice. The final module of the diploma is the Newly Qualified Nanny (NQN) year, a 12-month probationary nanny post in paid full-time employment that we find for you and support you throughout. No tuition fees are payable for this final fourth year in salaried employment. During this session, you will: learn about modules such as Sewing and Food and Nutrition gain insight into essential care skills, including nappy changing, child hygiene and car seat training hear first-hand experiences from current students explore how students are assessed throughout the diploma understand how the degree integrates with diploma training discover how the NQN year prepares you for life as a fully qualified Norland Nanny.
