IT'S FINALLY READY! First UK Drive in My SHELBY GT500

The day has finally arrived! My Shelby GT500 is registered and ready to be driven home as the import process has completed. Let's get the beastly Ford Mustang to ‪@TheShmuseum‬, and bring my Ford trio together for the first time! I bought the Shelby GT500 in early 2021 in Miami and since then have driven 12,000 amazing miles including a full tour coast to coast across to California, and also ‪@Gumball3000‬ from Toronto down to Miami hence it still wears the sticker livery. The plan was always to eventually bring it home to the UK, and bring it through the registration process to get it legally plated and registered, living at my garage. The original plan was to bring it over sooner, but having enjoyed owning a car in the USA it worked out perfectly to just keep it there for various adventures in the meantime including heading up to Toronto for the start of the 2022 Gumball 3000. However, after the rally finished in Florida, it felt like the right time to load it into a container and start the journey to import it. That process has involved paying all of the taxes that equate to around 32% of the cost of the car plus shipping; and then also having to do the conversions including new tail lights, fog light, and everything involved in the IVA process as a private import. For all of this work it's been in the hands of MyCarImport who I would most certainly recommend for their exemplary service in this regard. I've been speaking for 3 years or more about having the Ford GT, Shelby GT500 and Focus RS Heritage Edition together in the garage; to make a trio of Ford's supercar, muscle car and hot hatch. It's now happened, and it could not be more perfect!
