Bunce Island is arguably Sierra Leone's most important historical monument and definitely one of the most visited tourist sites in the country. It was the largest British slave castle on the Rice Coast of West Africa, hundreds of thousands of Africans went through here via a mission impossible journey to America. This is a must see for anyone interested in the history of the slave trade. You cannot hear the story of Bunce Island without being moved by its history.
