Scan 35mm Film with APS-C, Full Frame, or MFT Cameras, Full Technique with Explanations & Samples

DSLRs and mirrorless cameras, especially any camera made since around 2012, can yield amazing results as a digital "scanner". Digitizing images with a DSLR or Mirrorless camera allows you to edit raw files and pull the most detail and dynamic range from a film image. This technique allows you to create digitial images that reflect, as well as can be, the true amount of data in a film image. This technique requires a digital camera, an enlarger lens (figuring out which lens to use is discussed in the Why this Works section), a macro bellows, a slide copier attachment, macro tubes (lined with black felt), and a full-spectrum bulb to ensure that slides have proper and rich colors.
