How to Break In a Trumpet Mouthpiece. In this video, I'm going to show you how to properly break in a trumpet mouthpiece so that you can get the best possible sound out of your instrument and not get fooled by the honeymoon period While this video isn’t specifically about improvising, any brass player worth their salt will tell you that if the relationship between your chops and the mouthpiece ain’t right…it won’t matter what you do on your next solo. So today, we’re going to cover two different ways that will help you break in that new mouthpiece. I recently received a new mouthpiece that I’ve been waiting a long time to get.
