Jigging Walleye Spring
Today we're on Buffalo Pound Lake in Southern Saskatchewan in late May targeting post -spawn walleye. Tactic was pretty simple, pitching 1/4 oz Bite Me jigs, working shallow sand points from Loneys boat launch to Buffalo Ridge campground. The walleye were cooperative and action was steady throughout the day. BONUS tagged walleye was caught as first fish. Northern Pike were just as active, however, and spent plenty of time stealing the spotlight when they weren't invited.
