SCTV Panel | Chicago 12/12/09

In lieu of the long-delayed Scorsese doc (c'mon, Marty!), here's a largely unseen piece of SCTV. As part of Second City's 50th Anniversary weekend, the full cast, minus Rick Moranis, performed two shows and sat for a morning panel. This is that panel with a few clips from the previous evening's 10pm performance sprinkled in. Yes the camera angle is not great, but sitting in the front row makes a stealth video a tricky prospect (especially in pre-smartphone 2009). I'm hoping the joy of watching these funny, beautiful people share their SCTV memories up close (ok too close perhaps) will eclipse the cinematic shortcomings. They discuss performing the previous night, being together again, moving into impressions, the Vikings and Beekeepers fiasco, memories of John Candy, favorite characters and more. My fellow SCTV obsessives... I hope you enjoy this fun rarity.
