Metal Lathe Powered Leadscrew Mod - Cheap, Fast & Easy!

The leadscrew on my old Craftsman metal lathe was loud and slow. By adding a cheap ($25) stepper motor controller, an old stepper motor from the junk bin, and a few other odds and ends we can independently control the leadscrew. It's virtually silent and with the controller the length of run can be controlled in lots of ways. A fun and pretty easy mod.
