Carousel of Progress Is Getting A Complete Overhaul To Update It To Make It More "Revelevant"

Disney just announced they're doing a major overhaul of the Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom, and honestly, I have some thoughts. They're planning to replace every single scene in this classic attraction and "modernize" it for a 2027 reopening. While I'm all for keeping attractions fresh, this news has me and a lot of other Disney fans pretty concerned. The Carousel of Progress has been around since the 1964 World's Fair and it's one of Walt Disney's personal favorites. It's literally a piece of Disney history sitting right there in Tomorrowland. Sure, the final scene could use some work since it's supposed to be the "future" but shows the 1990s, but completely replacing everything? That feels like a lot. I get that Disney wants to attract new audiences and stay relevant, but there's something special about stepping into that theater and experiencing an attraction that Walt himself worked on. The Sherman Brothers music, the animatronics, even the cheesy dialogue - it's all part of the charm. What worries me most is what "modernizing" actually means. Are we going to lose that classic Disney storytelling? Will it still feel like the same attraction? And honestly, with Disney's recent track record of updates, I'm nervous they might lose what makes this attraction special in the first place. I really hope Disney finds a way to honor the original while making necessary updates. Maybe they could keep some of the classic elements while refreshing others?
