Review: Pathfinder Shoot-Through Compoundbogen von Drake Archery
Well-trodden paths aren't for you? Then check out Thomas's presentation of Drake Archery's new flagship compound! The slogan of the new Pathfinder is: Don't follow footsteps - create your own path! The Pathfinder is easily adjustable and comes with a wide range of accessories. Thomas's first impression: a fairly lightweight bow with a super matte black finish and a small compass. Its Twin Cam system with double yoke promises performance and shootability, while Speed Dots provide more speed. The grippy riser with a "carry handle" is perfect for the woods. The pre-installed peep sight with rubber tube always stays straight, even with changing draw weights (between 40-65 lbs), and the double yokes allow for optimal cam lean adjustment. The centerpiece in the shoot-through system holds the cable slider - this design allows for conversion from a right-handed to a left-handed bow (bow press required). With a 30" ATA length, the Pathfinder is a compact bow, ideally suited for 3D and other outdoor disciplines. Its weight of 4.3 lbs is mid-range, making it ideal for adult beginners and advanced archers with a penchant for high performance. With an IBO speed of 320 fps, it's also a truly fast bow—perfect for 3D archery, where 300 fps is usually the target. The draw length, adjustable between 24.5 and 30 inches, covers both female and most male archers. Included in the Starter+ Set is a small front stabilizer with a dampening element, which fills the integrated stabilizer bushing with the appropriate counterweight and removes residual vibrations from the system. A rear stabilizer can also be installed. By using magnesium, which is approximately 1/3 lighter than aluminum, the riser saves weight for the complex construction. This gives you a stable, superbly balanced, symmetrical riser with no tendency to Lateral tilt. Top-quality fiberglass limbs with a cool carbon look from Gordon Glass (a leading manufacturer of limbs) are complemented by dampers and maintain a stable axis on which the aluminum-milled cams sit. The balanced cams promise shootability and performance; their aluminum modules are easily adjustable using two screws without a bow press. The Pathfinder is available in four different packages, from the basic version to the all-round package including carbon arrows. The Starter+ Set includes the bow with front stabilizer, a robust 5-pin sight with a spirit level, a proven Arrow Rest with adjustable height, a release, an Allen key set, and string wax. Thomas will show you how to install the arrow rest and the easily adjustable pin sight. This comes with a small light source that corrects the problem of "If I shoot into the light, I can't see my pin!" The length-adjustable pin release with trigger and A Velcro wrist closure is introduced. Thomas recommends a standard diameter arrow for the Pathfinder, such as the 3K Xtreme from SPHERE. The bow shines with its generous 7.5" draw height, a super-comfortable draw, a well-defined wall, and just the right timing. In the final shooting test, it impresses with a straight arrow and a completely silent bow. Thomas' conclusion: easy to set up, widely adjustable, and complete with accessories – the Pathfinder is a great platform for both beginners and advanced archers! Do you have any questions?
