Patty Smyth Interview 1984

Patty Smyth gives an interview on a local TV station in 1984. I found out Scandal was going to be at a small university auditorium, so my brother and I jumped in his 74' TransAm and drove out to see her. It was a double-header, with John Waite playing a set after Scandal was on. Scandal was of course kick-ass. Sadly when John Waite came out and started playing, the crowd ran for the doors like there was a fire! The exits were on either side of the stage, so poor Waite had to play his opening song while watching people stare at him as they filed out past the stage.... Anyway, Smyth was great. Her outfit was odd, it looked like a white garbage back someone had cut holes in and spray-bombed, not flattering, but hey it was the eighties.... A few days later this interview was on television, a local show that was trying to be MTV, most of us did not have cable at this point. I think my other little brother taped this on our huge-ass VCR recorder, it was the size and weight of two concrete blocks. I saved the tape all these years and finally a bit ago converted it to a computer file. Quality is shitty for these days, but back then it was a wonderful and free analog world and this was taped on an old television grabbing signals out of the air with an antenna on the roof of our house, it was what we had and were used to.... My brother still has that f%%ing TransAm! All that is left now is to see if some corporate douchebag makes me take this off for some bullshit reason........
