You are a mech pilot currently working for a mercenary outfit. It’s dangerous work, but the pay is worth it. Especially since you get bonuses for each hostile mech you can prove you’ve destroyed. You take a lot of risks to make sure you get that extra pay, which means your mech usually takes a lot of damage. Although your mech always gets repaired quickly, the engineer who does the repairs always scolds you for not being careful enough. Today, like every other day, you’re supposed to meet with the engineer to start up a combat simulation. Unfortunately, you overslept.
