Roquetas de Mar | Exploring Spain on a National Holiday 🇪🇸 | Beach, Shopping & Unexpected Stops Hey everyone! 👋 Today I set off on a spontaneous trip during the Assumption of Mary, a national holiday here in Spain. I originally aimed to visit Rioja (yes, like the wine 🍷), but it was completely dead – so I headed down the coast to Roquetas de Mar, just past Almería and Aguadulce. In this video, I take you on a walk through: Gran Plaza Shopping Centre – with a huge Carrefour, a Yelmo Cinema, and all the usual shops you’d expect. A wander through MediaMarkt, Leroy Merlin, and the surrounding stores (spoiler: no GoPros or drones 😅). A trip down to the beachfront with some honest thoughts about the sand (ouch) and a look at the all-inclusive resorts. A quick visit to Lidl to grab some much-needed cold drinks – and yes, it was open! And finally, a look around the stunning adults-only Mirador del Cabo hotel – waterfall, private beach, and peace and quiet. No kids. Perfect. Along the way, I share thoughts on retiring early, budgeting in Spain, and the challenges of spontaneous living when shops close for holidays (looking at you, Mercadona!). If you enjoy these casual, real-life walkarounds and insights into expat life in southern Spain – please subscribe, like, and drop a comment below. Let me know: have you been to Roquetas? What do you think? Thanks for watching – see you in the next one!    • Tourism      • The way I cook it!      / @lyndon-baron-the-way-i-see-it   https://roquetasdemar.es/
