Joey Santiago (Pixies) on The Beatles' Genius, How Vinyl Helped Him Learn to Love Talking Heads
In this interview, Ryan talks to Pixies guitarist and co-founder Joey Santiago. (The band's upcoming album, 'The Night the Zombies Came,' is out 10/25.) During our conversation, Joey flips through his eclectic vinyl collection (everything from The Beatles to Sun Ra), explains why he once took a jackknife to a Talking Heads record, and highlights how David Gilmour loosely inspired a guitar part from the new album. I need to give a special shout out to The Vinyl District, whose 2017 interview with Joey inspired a couple of my questions.
