Less Angry, More Gentle - Genesis 4:1-16

Siblings have a way of getting under each other’s skin. If you grew up with a brother or sister, you understand this. You know exactly what to say to get them upset and exactly which button to push to get what you want. That applies not only to siblings, but to friends, co-workers, and employees. It’s almost natural in how we seek to throw people off and find what makes one tick. Everyone is susceptible to anger. Even the most laid-back, easy-going person is susceptible to anger. Anger has a sticking power to it, and pent-up anger has the potential to cause some very real damage. The fracturing of family ties that started in Genesis 3 quickly reaches the extremes of murder by Genesis 4. Through this lesson from Cain and Abel, God is going to show us how we can deal with anger, and through this lesson, God will teach us how we can become less angry and more gentle. Pastor Bitter discusses, using the lesson of Cain and Abel in Scripture, how we can be less angry and more gentle.
