⁴ᴷ Hiroshima: Fukuyama Station (広島県: 福山駅) - Japan Walking Tour (March, 2025)

Just like last month, I took the ferry from Yokosuka Port and arrived at Shin-Moji Port in Kitakyushu City. From there, I crossed the Kanmon Strait back to Honshu and began my journey along the Seto Inland Sea, heading toward Tokyo. I’ve moved from Onomichi City to Fukuyama City, located at the easternmost edge of Hiroshima Prefecture. While it’s the second most populous city in the prefecture after Hiroshima City, it feels like less than half the size in terms of scale. There’s a castle ruin located north of the station, but the nightlife and busier areas seem to be concentrated on the south side, so that’s where I explored this time. A short walk from the station brings you to a covered shopping arcade, and beyond that, there are several uncovered shopping streets scattered around.
