Adding to this, two days of high temperatures and heavy rain in many areas led us to decide to drive four hours, over 300 kilometers, from Kutchan to Sounkyo-Kurodake Ski Resort. We were initially quite disappointed because there was practically no snow along the way, and it was raining in many places, with most of the snow melted. But after taking the Kurodake Ropeway, we reached an altitude of over 1000 meters, and the rain turned to snow. At that moment, we knew we'd come to the right place. And unexpectedly, we ended up skiing at Kurodake Ski Resort for two days! The snow conditions were absolutely fantastic! There was so much powder that almost no one was skiing; there were fewer than ten people on the entire resort, making it feel like we had the place to ourselves.
