How a Sense of Urgency Keeps You Stuck in Rumination

FREE LIVE WORKSHOP: Breaking the OCD Loop Thursday 2nd July | 8pm CEST | 7pm UK | 1pm Eastern Join the live workshop here: https://robert-james-coaching-ocd.cir... OCD often creates a false sense of urgency — the feeling that you need to figure something out right now, prove that everything is okay, or get certainty before you can move on. But that urgency is the trap. The more you respond to it by ruminating, checking, analysing, reassuring yourself, or trying to solve the fear, the more power OCD seems to gain. Over time, this can make your world smaller and smaller, pulling you away from the people, values, and activities that matter most. In this video, I talk about why urgency is such a key part of the OCD cycle, how rumination makes the threat feel bigger, and how you can begin to respond differently when that false alarm shows up.
