My Adventures in the Ribosome - Venki Ramakrishnan - Frontiers of Science Lecture
Molecular biologist Dr. Venki Ramakrishnan presents “My Adventures in the Ribosome,” highlighting his research on the ancient molecular machine, in part conducted as a biochemist at the U, that led to his 2009 Nobel Prize. Ramakrishnan discusses his career path, which involved living on three continents, spanning disciplines from physics to biology, and participating in a scientific race to discover the structure of the ribosome, “the most important molecule that nobody’s heard of.”
