Westerbeke Generator will not start| 48' 1999 Bayliner
Received a phone call from another mechanic asked me to go take a look at this generator. I was told that it was not running properly and may just need adjustment. When I got to the boat and did the usual checks and try to start it I realize that it was not getting any fuel. Upon further evaluation, I realized that the fuel solenoid was blown out and was not allowing the valve to open to allow fuel into the engine. After I dismantled, the solenoid and manually opened up the valve, the engine ran just fine. Further inspection of the engine revealed if you leak in one of the lines. After that, I shut the engine down, removed the solenoid and ordered both parts for reinstall. Yacht, Bayliner boats, Westerbeke Generators, Yachting, Boat repair.
