Visiting The Only Migrant Centre In Latvia 🇱🇻
Mucenieki is a small village on the outskirts of Riga. It consists of about 10 houses and hosts couple hudred local residents. In 1998 government with the assistance of foreign aid opened first refugee centre in Latvia with possibility to house up to 400 migrants. For many years Mucenieki village and migrant centre was completely “off the radar” for local people, simply because there were almost no migrants and Latvia. Nowadays government has added two more buildings and extension of refugee centre is continuing. I decided to go see how if life there and how are locals living side by side to migrants from other countries. #mucenieki #migrants #migrantslatvia
