Why Everyone Around the Country Should Pay Attention to Washington Gun Laws

Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses the recent trend of more progressive / radical ideas (especially when it comes to gun control measures) which seem to be first implemented on the West coast, before migrating eastward. Today we discuss three major gun control issues on the national level that all of you, around the country, can examine Washington's approach to see where those looking to disarm American citizens are headed. We examine Washington's universal background check law and how there is a striking resemblance with our State law and what is being proposed on a Federal level. We also look at our State's Red Flag Laws and how the proposed Federal guidelines is literally a verbatim copy of what is already in effect here in Washington state. And finally, we take a close look at the recent passage of House Bill 1705 and how that looks as though is was cut and pasted into the ATF's new proposed rule making which would greatly expand the definition of firearm as well as frame/receiver.
