ESCAPING THE WINTER - EPISODE 01 - ADV RIDING IN PORTUGAL

Portugal has to be one of the best countries in Europe for ADV riding and when the weather on the northern hemisphere becomes wet, cold and miserable, it is the perfect place to go and escape the winter. Last year in October I went on yet another ride with my good friends Ingvar and Johannes. Almost a year before we had our first ride together in Portugal and now we're back. Back for more amazing offroad riding, back for the wine, back for the Porco Preto and back for the sunshine. Together with 8 other riders we embarked on a 6 day tour of Portugal, on a hunt for tricky tracks, sandy tracks, tracks with ruts and as much elevation change as possible. I tried to boil it down to just one film but realized I had too many good memories from this trip that I wanted to "journal" so it will now be a mini series of 4 episodes, I really hope you will enjoy it. IN THIS EPISODE: We set off from Santarém on the first day of our tour. Many opted to spend the day on a training course, we opted to get back in to the rythm of off road riding again by hitting the trails and as we do we stumble upon playground after playground. Portugal is from Day 01 proving it self to be one of, if not the best, countries for off road riding. On our second day, we set off again from Santarém and rides north towards Pombal, here we ride some of TET Portugal near Tomar, and just as I remember, The TET in Portugal is one of the most technical TET routes there is.
