Pilipinas Conference 2024 CEO Dialogue
In the ninth year of the annual Pilipinas Conference, the second day closed with the CEO Dialogue joined by the two prominent business leaders: Mr. Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, Chairman of Ayala Corporation, and Mr. Jose Diaz-Caneja, CEO of ACCIONA Infrastructure. Mr.Zobel de Ayala and his family has guided Ayala Corporation in achieving significant milestones in Philippine infrastructure expansion. As one of the Philippines’ oldest and largest conglomerates, Ayala Corporation boasts over 185 years of history, playing a crucial role in the country’s economic development across sectors like real estate, banking, telecommunications, water, energy, and healthcare. Ayala continues to shape the Philippine economy and foster community growth through innovation and sustainability. Mr. Diaz-Caneja leads ACCIONA Infrastructure, a global leader in sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy with operations in more than 40 countries. ACCIONA develops and manages infrastructure solutions across sectors such as transportation, water, and energy. Its dedication to sustainable practices has established it as a pioneer in green infrastructure, using innovative technologies to minimize environmental impact and support resilient communities worldwide. The dialogue centered on the potential of businesses into the development of the Philippine landscape from infrastructure, logistics, healthcare, energy, and even education, in complement of good policy reforms that encourage investment and provide suitable employment for Filipinos. The discussion shed light on the positive impact of the public-private partnerships of the government in addressing the country’s challenges and bolstering growth and development aligned with the country’s national interests. The CEO Dialogue was moderated by Atty. Mike Toledo, Director for Government and Public Affairs at Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC). The Pilipinas Conference serves as a call to action for all stakeholders to safeguard the country’s future through enhanced collaboration with the Philippine government, and like-minded corporations, and local and international partner associations.
