STOOD DOWN Chiltern Railways Class 68s, DENAMED Class 57s Plus 93002 *Drone* DRS Crewe Gresty Bridge

#arthurgrowler Trip over to Crewe DRS Gresty Bridge Depot in Cheshire to Capture the Chiltern Railways Class 68 locomotives which have been stood down from operation. A New batch of Chiltern is replacing them with 13 five-car sets of CAF Mk5a coaches and 14 Class 68 locomotives formerly used by TransPennine Express. Couple of the DRS Class 57 fleet have had their names removed and are now waiting sale. 93002 on shed as Direct Rail Services (DRS) and Rail Operations Group (ROG) have partnered for the maintenance and storage of the new Stadler-built Class 93 locomotives, with the first units arriving at Crewe Gresty Bridge in early 2026. These advanced 110mph "tri-mode" locomotives (electric/diesel/battery) will be maintained by DRS to support low-carbon freight and train movement services across the UK.
