How Bad Is Shield Hero, Actually?

Shield Hero is one of those anime that I genuinely wanted to succeed. Back in 2019, it felt like The Rising of the Shield Hero had everything it needed to become one of the biggest isekai series out there. It had a unique protagonist, an interesting premise, strong emotional moments, and a first season that got a lot of people invested. But somewhere along the way, it lost a lot of what made it special. In this video, I take a look at Naofumi's character, the changes made throughout the later seasons, the pacing and plot issues that have frustrated many fans, and whether Shield Hero is actually as bad as some people claim. Despite its flaws, I don't think Shield Hero is a bad anime. In fact, I think it still has the potential to become one of the best isekai series if it can learn from its mistakes.
