El Pueblo CIRCULAR de Oaxaca

San Miguel Monteverde is the Circular Town of the Mixteca region of Oaxaca. This community belongs to the municipality of San Antonino Monte Verde, Teposcolula, Oaxaca. The origins of what would become San Miguel date back to 1988, when Pablo Cruz Cruz, a local resident, moved to Tlaxiaco to study. There he met the Antorcha Campesina organization, which offered to bring progress to his homeland. Upon returning to Monteverde, Pablo gathered the residents to propose that they join this group, which promised to secure the necessary resources to build a community with all essential services.
