Vila Real: capital of Trás os Montes | Portugal After spending the morning in Lamego, Viseu district, Nuzito and Tietchan head to Vila Real to spend the end of the day. Vila Real is a beautiful city, where the Congo River flows, which is one of the tributaries of the Douro River. The attractions are relatively close to the historic center and it is possible to visit some on foot. They were unable to visit the Mateus Palace and other attractions in the surrounding area due to lack of time to see everything. The first visit was to the Church of São Domingos, built in 1424. They passed in front of the house of Diogo Cão, a Portuguese navigator from the 15th century. It is not possible to visit inside the house because it is private property. They entered the Vila Real cemetery, the first in the city, where Nuzito probably has ancestors. They passed in front of the Vila Real museum and the São Pedro church. As Christmas approaches, they passed by some nativity scenes made by the parishes of Vila Real. In Jardim da Carreira, a beautiful city park, Nuzito is thrilled to find his family's coat of arms... Erica – the daughter of Japanese parents – followed the path of many Brazilian dekasegi (migrant workers), and went to work in the land of the rising sun in 2003, where she lived for 5 years.
