Dead Space Lore: Deep Dive Into The USG Ishimura

Dead Space Lore The usg ishimura was the first and most famous planet cracker in the human fleet, they were built to counter the epidemic humanity soon found themselves within allowing them to begin gripping new resource rich worlds and crack them open for their spoils to bleed out to where the cracking vessels would begin to break them down revealing the ores and minerals left behind. The Ishimura had other enterprises on board though which only added to it's unique value. The ship would have a research wing on board to research into all things medical based. Whether that would be from chemicals to cryogenics all the way to futuristic methods of internal scanning devices. The ship was the flag ship of the cec (concordance extraction corporation) however while they were attending a planet cracking operation to aegis vii they came under attack from something hidden for centuries. The earth government would eventually find the stricken ship a year later and bring it back to the sprawl however aegis vii was completely destroyed following the disaster. The Ishimura would be repaired along with other secretive work happening behind the scenes before it and titan station were to be destroyed as well following an outbreak of some kind.
