Carolina de Brandeburgo-Ansbach, "La Reina de Hierro" y su Macabro Final. Reina de Gran Bretaña.

Caroline was a Queen Consort of Great Britain who would go down in history for her great physical and mental strength, becoming known as "The Iron Queen." She is remembered not only as the first Queen Consort of the Hanoverian dynasty, but also for her family troubles, such as her husband's infidelities and the deep hatred she shared with her son, Frederick Louis. She was a woman who endured and adapted well to all these difficult situations until her health finally gave out, leading to a terrible and macabre end. With a brilliant and scientific mind far ahead of her time, Caroline did not hesitate to confront the terrible smallpox epidemic of 1721. To save her children, she carried out a daring experiment: she persuaded the Crown to pardon six prisoners condemned to death in exchange for being inoculated with the disease, repeating the process with orphaned children. Only after verifying its success did she introduce this practice to the royal family, saving the lives of her descendants in an unprecedented historical milestone. But behind her scientific achievements and brilliant regencies—during which she signed the Treaty of Seville and secured Gibraltar—her private life was a living hell. She endured a humiliating marriage, receiving 40-page letters in which her husband, King George II, guiltily confessed his infidelities and begged for advice on love. Far from being broken, Caroline used their nightly conversations in the royal bed to subtly manipulate the monarch, ruling the empire from the shadows alongside the astute Prime Minister Robert Walpole. The true tragedy of her life was her eldest son, Frederick Louis, whom she hadn't seen for eleven years. The reunion was so icy that Caroline felt an immediate revulsion toward him, publicly calling him a "creature," a "wretch," or a "monster." This enmity unleashed a brutal family feud: the prince went so far as to hold banquets celebrating his father's staged shipwreck and kidnapped his wife during childbirth to prevent the king and queen from witnessing the birth, forcing Caroline to travel in the early hours of the morning to see the birth of a premature granddaughter whom she contemptuously dubbed "poor ugly little mouse." Caroline's tragic end came on November 9, 1737. After eleven pregnancies and suffering from severe obesity, gout, and circulatory problems, her body collapsed during an official reception. Caroline endured the ceremony with a frozen smile as her abdomen tore open from within. The diagnosis was terrifying: an umbilical hernia she had silently concealed for years had become strangulated. Subjected to a brutal medical procedure without anesthesia, the surgeons accidentally perforated her intestine, causing a foul-smelling peritonitis that filled her chambers with an unbearable odor. On her deathbed, she forbade her hated son from entering and bitterly ironically forgave her husband's infidelities, leaving a legacy of pain, pride, and a romantic, eternal pact in Westminster Abbey. 📜✨ The channel has already produced biographies of some of the figures mentioned in this video: -Archduke Charles of Austria (Charles VI):    • Carlos VI del SIRG, El Emperador que Recla...   -George I of Great Britain:    • Jorge I de Gran Bretaña, el primer rey de ...   -George II of Great Britain:    • Jorge II de Gran Bretaña, el segundo rey d... -Elizabeth I of England:    • Isabel I de Inglaterra, "La Reina Virgen",...   -Anne of Great Britain:    • Ana I de Gran Bretaña, la última reina Est...   -Sarah Churchill:    • Sarah Churchill, La Amiga "Íntima" y Prime...   Become a member of this channel to enjoy exclusive benefits:    / @biopicchannel   #CarolineOfAnsbach #CourtTales #GeorgeII #HistoricalGossip #HistoryOfEngland #BritishRoyalty #WomenInHistory #HistoricalCuriosities #RoyalAnecdotes #AncientMedicine #georgeii #queencaroline #biopicchannel
