Join me on this nostalgic tour of the impressive home of Johnny Ventura, "El Caballo Mayor" (The Big Horse). Aptly named "La Casa del Merengue" (The House of Merengue), some corners remain untouched since the day he passed away. Guided by Jandy Ventura, we were able to enter this mansion located in Cuesta Brava de Arroyo Hondo. A plot of land exceeding three thousand square meters, nearly two thousand square meters of construction, a swimming pool, parking for sixteen vehicles, and a complete roundabout are all features that reveal we are in the presence of something majestic, much like the career of our merengue legend Johnny Ventura. Jandy Ventura, who has taken on the responsibility of continuing "El Caballo Mayor's Legacy," led us through the living room, bedrooms, and the entire house while narrating how his father lived, his favorite places, and how he was raised. He was undoubtedly a father who dedicated himself to raising his family well, and today Jandy is a living example of that. Doña Fifa also joined our tour. While we drank coffee, she explained the history of the house, from the purchase of the land and its construction to the move, as well as some of the Ventura family traditions. They always ate together every Sunday at the table, which we managed to capture on video. The word "nostalgia" perfectly describes this #clicvip because exploring every corner of the place where the Dominican star Johnny Ventura lived, seeing his mementos, awards, and photos, brought back many emotions for everyone who participated in the interview. Jandy even struggled to hold back tears several times. When asked about the future of the house, she mentioned that it's valued at around eighty million pesos, but that due to its historical, sentimental, and cultural significance, it could be worth around one hundred million. Her greatest wish, however, is that the Dominican State will decide to turn it into a museum and preserve it as is for future generations who can come and learn about Johnny Ventura's life and his contributions to Merengue music.
