Red Dragon Jacobi House Scene w/ Manhunter Soundtrack (Evaporation by Shriekback)

Here is a little a project I've been working on this week, I wanted to see what Red Dragon (2002) would sound like with the soundtrack from Michael Mann's Manhunter (1986). Both films were adapted from Thomas Harris' novel, Red Dragon. I remember when I was a kid, I went to see Red Dragon in the theater and boy did it scare the shit out of me! On our way home from the theater, my friend's father who took us to see it told us it was in fact a remake of a film called Manhunter and at the time, the concept of a movie being remade was alien to me which goes to show my age at the time. I eventually saw Manhunter but I don't think my 12 year old brain could handle the deep themes of the film. As I got older, Manhunter has grown to be one of my favorites films of all time and I appreciate much more than Red Dragon (not to say Red Dragon is a inferior film). I feel Manhunter is more true to form and has much deeper themes, mostly Will Graham's character (played by William Petersen) and his deep dive into the psychotic mind of the Hannibal Lector & the Tooth Fairy where you can see Will could be on the cusp and border of the mind of a serial killer. Not to mention Michael Mann's direction and amazing cinematography and soundtrack that gives the film it's dream like charm. Planet CHH said it best when he said Red Dragon is more akin to Pop Music whereas Manhunter is more like New Wave & Synth, I admired that comparison a lot! So for this I wanted to see how "Evaporation" by Shriekback from the Manhunter soundtrack would sound and fit into Red Dragon. This is the scene where Will Graham scopes out the Jacobi house and finds out why the Tooth Fairy chooses big yards. I have isolated the dialogue and enhanced the levels as well as the levels of the music. I may re-edit a few other scenes as well so stay tuned! Hope you enjoy!
