Afternoon forecast for July 8, 2026

Temperatures continue to climb across the state, with a few scattered storms still popping up this afternoon. We will keep the chance for pop-up thunderstorms on Thursday, but they will be primarily south and east of Salt Lake. High pressure will strengthen over the weekend, with temperatures ranging anywhere from 100 to 105 degrees from Saturday to Monday. Monsoonal moisture could come to the rescue next week, with the chance for showers moving in by next Wednesday/Thursday.
