The Best Blueberry Jam I've Ever Made | Canning Recipe

Today we're staying inside because this heat is no joke, and I figured it was the perfect day to finally make blueberry jam. Believe it or not, with all the blueberries we grow every year, I've never actually made jam before. We usually freeze them or freeze dry them, but after trying some at our daughter's house, Todd looked at me and said, "You need to make this this year." So here we are. I'll walk you through the recipe step by step, show you how I make it in the steam canner, and share a little bit about our recent family vacation while everything cooks. Sometimes preserving food isn't just about filling the pantry. It's also about slowing down, making memories, and enjoying the season while it lasts. I hope this video encourages you to try making blueberry jam for yourself, and maybe even inspires you to gather your family together for a little summer adventure too. Thanks so much for spending part of your day with us, and let's get canning! 🫐 Steam Canner: https://amzn.to/4eZaT0v 🫐 Steam Canner Stainless: https://amzn.to/4vkzmDM 🫐 Sure Gel Pectin: https://amzn.to/4eX59Wx 🫐 AirBNB we stayed at: https://www.airbnb.com/l/9x9Wktrr (note: it's under new management now, so it's a lot more expensive than when we booked it) 🫐 Homemade Blueberry Jam Ingredients 2 pounds fresh blueberries About 6⅓ cups sugar 4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice 2 boxes Sure-Jell pectin Directions Crush blueberries in a large pot. Add lemon juice and pectin. Bring to a full rolling boil while stirring. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Return to a full rolling boil and boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Skim foam if desired. Fill clean jars, leaving ¼ inch headspace. Wipe rims, apply lids and rings. Process in a steam canner for 10 minutes (following the canner instructions for your elevation). Cool and allow jars to seal before storing. Makes about 8 jelly jars. --------------- 👕 Shop Our Merch: https://www.bonfire.com/store/1870sme... 🌱 MIGardener: https://migardener.com/1870 🌺 GREENSTALK Vertical Gardens: https://greenstalkgarden.com/?rstr=SH...
