Testimonies from rescuers at the site reflect heartbreaking scenes that have been etched into the collective memory, such as the recent discovery of a family of four buried in a protective embrace, and the decapitated body of a woman, the victim of a collapsed upper floor. Although those affected are grateful for the constant supply of food and water from civilian solidarity, desperation is growing due to the lack of advanced technological equipment for the removal of debris. Citizens made a desperate plea to local authorities and the government for the urgent deployment of heavy machinery, such as bulldozers, robotic arms, and skid-steer loaders. They warned that, 15 days after the catastrophe, the hope of finding survivors alive was fading, turning into a race against time to recover the remains from beneath the collapsed slabs of the 10th floor and give them a proper burial. "We're going to spend a year digging here with picks and drills," said a resident who, while searching for his own relatives, located the remains of another unidentified victim.
