His images of war over the past decades make for difficult viewing and I was struck once again with the question: why do people put themselves in harms way to shoot in such difficult situations? Fortunately I have a friend named Ondrej Vachek who is just beginning his career in documentary and conflict photography so I sat down to ask him about his recent trips to the front lines in the Ukraine, and what motivates him to go.
