The full drawing process to "Aeon's Waltz"
This drawing is continuing my Study of Color. I have been using my creativity for others than myself for a while, and this was a piece for myself. When I don't have enough time to myself to process or experiment with lines I start feeling confined and frustrated. This was a "in defiance to myself" piece. I'm sure that a lot of you can relate to that feeling of not having enough time for yourself, or that you are just a puppet in the circus act. I start feeling that way as well, and being a neurdivergent boy I feel that extra strong. I have been living in survival mode for so many years that I was able to ignore it and move on with my life as if nothing was wrong. Now that I am experiencing life as my true self and not in a constant state of emergency I am able to listen to myself and take the time to create when I need to. This piece I experimented with colored pencil on black bristol board, and It turned out amazing! I love how bright and vibrant the color is next to the line work. I was afraid that it would draw too much attention away from the lines, and it does, but its not detrimental to the overall composition. It highlights the center portion and brings the viewers eye and makes it even more striking.
