Pinky & Perky – “The Holly And The Ivy” (UK Music For Pleasure) 1970
The duo released recordings in the UK over a twenty year period beginning in 1958. Their style was very suitable for Christmas recordings and their first such EP, “Christmas With Pinky & Perky” was released on UK Columbia in 1961. This track and its flipside, “While Shepherds Watched” were both featured on Pinky & Perky’s 1969 album “Christmas With Pinky & Perky” on the Music For Pleasure label. EMI moved Pinky & Perky to their Music For Pleasure subsidiary in 1969 and they began releasing covers of hits of the day, such as “Bridget The Midget” in 1971 and “Long Haired Lover From Liverpool” in 1973.
