West Side Story medley SATB, Bass practice
Please note this track has been made for learning purposes only - no claim is made to own the right to any part of the song featured. This choir practice file uses what I consider to be the most effective sound-combination : a. Featured part: this needs to have an instrument that stands out from the other sounds & the best found for this is the Tenor-sax. Whilst it may not make a beautiful, pleasing sound, it is the easiest to hear & pick out against the other sounds. Also, it gives a ‘legato’, constant note volume, so you can hear how long to hold the note. The featured-part notes are also played on a piano, which delivers a sharp punch to the start of each note. So, the combination of piano & tenor-sax is ideal. b. Other supporting parts: Orchestra-strings that are not too prominent, but give the correct length to hold the note c. Piano accompaniment: (most of it!) a not too prominent Piano This is at the tempo specified in the sheet music. [Original song file constructed with a wonderful free app called TuxGuitar]
