France to Ireland via Royal Enfield Bullet 500: Homeward Bound

Join Marty and me in the final leg of our thrilling European motorcycle tour. The journey begins in Bayeux, where we're joining Naim and his trusty Kawasaki W650. The start isn't without its share of drama - a mysterious popping noise leaves us wondering if it's the Swiss fighter jets or just a mischievous microphone. Either way, it's all part of the journey. Our ride takes us through the stunning French countryside on the way to Sainte-Mère-Église. Daisy, my Royal Enfield Bullet 500, adds a bit of suspense by acting slightly temperamental. A few idle misfires and an uncanny flashback to a similar occurrence in rainy Wales keep us alert and guessing. But, like the true warhorse she is, Daisy pushes through, and we arrive at our destination, ready to explore. In Sainte-Mère-Église, a surprise awaits - we're digitally immortalised as the Google Street View car passes us by. A quirky little memento from this memorable trip. Our stop at the iconic town concludes with a hearty meal of 'C-47 Burgers', earning their name from the trusty WWII aircraft - or is it their engine grease? As we part ways with Naim, it's time to head towards Cherbourg, the ferry, and our journey home. A bag full of Sainte-Mère-Église goodies finds its perfect spot on the bike, marking the end of our continental shopping spree. The ferry ride offers a chance to unwind, as Marty and I engage in a friendly game of blackjack. Back on Irish soil, the weather's not on our side. It's been an incredible journey filled with unexpected turns, memorable encounters, and breathtaking sights.
