Conhecendo Museus - Ep. 04: MUSEU AFRO BRASIL

It is amidst the appreciation of African and Afro-Brazilian history that the Afro Brasil Museum was born in 2004. A symbol of struggle and perseverance, this people and their rich culture are spread across photographs, paintings, engravings, documents, and artifacts in the Padre Manoel da Nóbrega Pavilion, located within Ibirapuera Park. The contrast of green and gray in the capital of São Paulo surrounds the museum, which houses more than 5,000 works, 2,163 of which were donated by the visual artist Emanoel Araújo, who had the idea to create the museum and is now its curator. A dream realized by this man from Bahia to tell the story of a suffering people, but one that knew how to overcome with dignity.
