Seeing the iconic, rugged profile of the F40—a mainstay of North American passenger rail for decades—operating on the same corridor as the sleek, 3,600-horsepower Brookville units offers an excellent perspective on how regional transit power has adapted. Both sets of locomotives were seen deftly handling high-capacity Bombardier BiLevel consists through the South Florida subdivision.
