PLEASE NOTE RECENT REVIEWS ON TRIPADVISOR THEY SEEM TO BE ALOT BETTER. JULY 2025. HOPEFULLY ITS BEEN SORTED AND THEY HAVE GOT EVERYTHING RIGHT. THIS WAS OUR REVIEW BUT IT HAD NOT BEEN RE-OPENED THAT LONG. Kapetanios Aqua Resort (formally Aqua Sol Holiday Village) is a holel in Coral Bay Cyprus It has been shut for 3 years and re-opened June this year 2024 under new management and a new name. On paper on Jet2 website it sounds a brilliant hotel this is our review. Arrival: We arrived at 11pm straight away we liked the look of reception. Went to the desk and was greeted by a friendly receptionist. A porter then carried our luggage to our room which was great as there was 2 sets of steep steps to it. Room 1511: Very spacious with free aircon and free safe. We didn't take much notice of room at this point as we were suprising our daughter and family they didn;.t know we was going so straight out to meet them. Regarding my daughters room hers wasn't cleand for her last 2 days. Next morning got up wanting a coffee they supplied 2 sachets of coffee and milk, few sugars and a bottle of water, these were not replenished during our stay which I thought they would be being a 4 star hotel. Room had kettle and fridge which worked well. The room was OK plenty of cupboard space and place to hang your clothes and a suitcase stand. The room has supposed to have been renovated but on closer inspection the bath was old and slippy, bathroom door need replacing rotting at the bottom. Bathroom not cleaned properly ie stains on walls from people getting showered. Also quite a few small ants roaming about. Bed were comftable slept well. Balcony great sea views but not swept very well or table wiped. In the corner of balcony cobwebs with big feather caught in it so cleaner would have seen it is she went out onto balcony. Cleaning reasonable 5/10 swept and mopped floors. Sheets changed once (see channel community page for photo of beds made a joke    / @amimantravels   ) towels changed just about everyday. Restaurant: All food is served buffet style Breakfast is OK full English and loads of cold food meat, cheese and fruit ect. Lunch quite a few selections to choose from hot and cold and a few desserts. Evening Meal quite a few selections to choose from hot and cold and a few desserts. Lunch and evening meal coffee tea is not available which to me is very strange as a lot of people like coffee after a meal. Coffee machine was covered up. All food seems to be the same both lunch and evening meal. same type of meat cooked in differant sauces. poor quality meat and luke warm every meal. I had one meal I really enjoyed in a week. They have seating areas inside and out seats are comfortable tables cleared quickly. Staff could do with learning to smile a bit more. 2 members of staff worked every shift we was there they were probably to tired to smile although they was the only ones who did unless there was a big boss about then they all smiled. Restaraunt Bar: Well stocked spirits some beers ran our regular. Bar staff have trouble understanding you and are very slow. Pool Area: Pool area is laid out well 2 pools which looked clean. Sunbeds plenty but you have to be quick to get one as you see in video 07.33am half of beds have towels on them. Needs policeing by hotel staff. Pool bar very slow service no matter how many staff on and again they dont understand you very well we were struggling to order. Pool food bar very small selection. Burgers, chips, toasties, hotdogs and nuggets poor quality. Ice cream only available for a few hours a day mini magnum type looked like free samples. Tables not cleaned quickly enough. Animation consisted of 2 people who were contracted to the hotel by an outside entertainment business both were really friendly and got everybody going. Water Park: Quite a few slides and a lazy river which has a current you just float round it. Granddaughter and the friends she made loved it. Evening Entertainment: Bingo every night except Wednesday. Couple of dance act a few nights but apart from that none. Mini Super Market: Very small and expensive but has everything you need and the shop staff are brilliant, PRO's Free aircon Free safe Waterpark Pools CON's Cleaning not very good Unhappy staff not very friendly Luke warm food with nothing standing out. Disability access I couldnt see anyway of getting to the pool except via steps. Very steep hill to Coral Bay Strip video coming. Would we go here again NO. It needs alot of sorting out staff and food hopefully they will. But then again we only went to suprise granddaughter we nornmally do Lanzarote.
