Inside Uganda's Multi-Billion Dollar Oil Projects at Kingfisher & Tilenga oil development fields.

For more than a century, Uganda has dreamed of producing its own oil. From the colonial era through successive governments, that dream is now on the verge of becoming a reality. A high-level government inspection team has visited the Kingfisher and Tilenga oil development areas, together with the Kabaale Shared Facilities (KSF), to assess construction progress, compliance, and readiness for Uganda's historic First Oil. Uganda has confirmed 6.5 billion barrels of crude oil, with an estimated annual revenue potential of US$2–3 billion, making it one of Africa's most significant onshore oil discoveries. At the Kingfisher Project, construction of the Central Processing Facility (CPF) is in its final stages, while inspections showed major progress on well pads and production infrastructure. At the Kabaale Shared Facilities, the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Pump Station 1 is now 76% complete, with completion expected in August 2026. The Kabalega Substation has reached 82% completion, with commissioning of the first transformer planned before the end of August. Meanwhile, the Tilenga Project continues to advance rapidly. More than 235 wells have now been developed across 18 well pads, environmental restoration at the Nile HDD crossing has exceeded 90% vegetation recovery, and key production facilities are steadily moving toward completion. The project is also creating opportunities for Ugandan businesses through increased use of locally sourced materials and services. Developed through a partnership between TotalEnergies EP Uganda, CNOOC Uganda Limited, and the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), Uganda's petroleum sector is expected to transform the country's economy, create thousands of jobs, strengthen regional energy security, and position Uganda among Africa's leading oil-producing nations. Watch this video for the latest updates on Uganda's journey to First Oil, the progress of the Kingfisher and Tilenga projects, EACOP construction, and what this historic milestone means for the future of Uganda. #UgandaOil #FirstOil #KingfisherProject #Tilenga #EACOP #Bunyoro #Hoima #CNOOC #TotalEnergies #UNOC #LakeAlbert #OilAndGas #Uganda #Energy #EastAfrica
