Addressing Gaps in Information and Data Availability through Multi-Stakeholder Processes in FSN

On 16 July 2026, the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) convened the Collaborative Governance Dialogue on "Addressing Gaps in Information and Data Availability through Multi-Stakeholder Processes in Food Security and Nutrition", at FAO Headquarters in Rome, Italy. The dialogue brought together Member States, UN agencies, civil society, Indigenous Peoples, the private sector, philanthropic and financial organizations, and the research community to explore how stronger governance and collaboration can help close critical data gaps in food security and nutrition. Discussions examined the current state of play and emerging pressures, priority data gaps, governance and coordination challenges, as well as opportunities to strengthen the generation, sharing and use of evidence. Through an interactive exchange, participants shared experiences and practical approaches to improve the availability, quality, coordination and use of food security and nutrition data across diverse contexts, including situations of fragility and protracted crises. CFS looks forward to continuing this important work to strengthen data systems that support better policies, informed decision-making, and improved food security and nutrition outcomes for all. #foodsecurity #cfs
