E0013 tire contact patch(static 2), Tire Stiffness - all DOF - EulSeoggy Ko

This video explains vertical, lateral, longitudinal, rotational stiffness. Tire stiffness gets different depending on tire types. Radial Tire is stiffer than bias tire in all direction because radial tire has hard belts circumferentially. Tires deform continuously between tire contact patch and other area. In this process, the deformation energy is not fully recovered when tire's bouncing back. The remaining energy not for bouncing back is disappeared in the air in the form of thermal energy. This is the internal energy and we call it hysteresis damping. Therefore, the graph of force versus displacement when increasing the load does not coincide with the graph of that when decreasing the load. the line for increasing is always higher than that for decreasing. The area enclosed by those two lines represents the thermal energy disappeared in the air. This energy reduces when the vehicle speed increasing.
