Accessibility in the library

This video details the adjusted services provided in the University of York Library for those registered with Disability Services. (All information correct as of September 2025.) To find out more visit the Library website: https://www.york.ac.uk/library/access... You can visit the University's main Disability Services website at https://www.york.ac.uk/students/suppo... - they can arrange academic support and adjustments if you have a disability or long-term health condition that has an impact on your ability to study. It's worth talking to Disability Services even if you're unsure whether you have a disability. Previously when we've asked students for their #UoYTips, one student responded: "If you struggle with time management, organisation, stress etc contact disability & see if there are underlying reasons - it can change your life when support is put in place. I have a 1st class degree in English Lit AND I have dyslexia/dyspraxia!" If you have any questions about anything in this video please get in touch with us: you can email us on [email protected] or phone the main library on 01904 323838 - of just come and see us at the Help Desk in the Morrell. _________ Chapters: 0:00 Introduction 0:20 Access to the main Campus West Library 1:02 Resources and Adjusted Services 1:48 Library Help Desks 2:14 Accessible Study Spaces 2:50 Accessible Printing and Self-Issue 3:14 Lockers 3:23 Registering with Disability Services _________ The was co-written by Alice Bennett (IT Accessibility Support Specialist), and Ned Potter (Faculty Engagement Manager), and narrated by Ned Potter.
