78 KZ1000A Part Two Celina Blue AKA "Crystal Blue Persuasion"

This is Part II of the 1978 Kawasaki KZ1000A project, which started out as "Celina Blue." When we first received the bike, it was borderline at best, missing many things. However with the right motor and the right frame, there was potential. We proceeded to get it running and in the meantime we had been talking to a customer who was looking for a bike. We thought this would be a good base bike to create what he was looking for. The second phase of this project outlines what it takes to make an every-day rider into a showroom perfect specimen. When we first offered it to Dave, it would have been a good “bomb around town” bike. But we believe because the frame was sound, it had a strong base motor, it was a good candidate to go all the way with. We brought it back to life with a Kerker header, Wiseco oversized pistons, K&N air cleaners, as well as a Ricks Electric charging system, regulator/rectifier combo, and the EBC duel front brake rotors and pads. We are waiting for the matching rear rotor from EBC, however the Coronavirus has slowed down the planet and motorcycle restoration projects are no exception.
