Plantas de Coleção Urban Jungle | Nível Avançado | Jardineiros Urbanos por Flay

#urbanjungle #urbanjungleplants Hello, my dear Plantoids! How are you all? To conclude the series with the episode 'Urban Jungle Collection Plants - Advanced Level', I bring you new reflections and concepts to support my criteria applied in the 'basic', 'intermediate', and 'advanced' categories of plants for the Urban Jungle. In the concept I present here, I assume that to reach the advanced level in Collection Plants for our Urban Jungle, it is not enough to simply have the financial means and access to specific genera and species. The advanced level requires the plant collector to acquire a certain autonomy from the market and the 'community' itself, which end up wanting to dictate values and rules of belonging. The desires for belonging, whether for the Urban Jungle or not, are always seductive because they stimulate certain emotional gaps in Homo sapiens. Advanced plant collecting doesn't just mean being confident in cultivation – from basic maintenance to more specific cases – but rather achieving autonomy that liberates us and gives us the freedom to pursue our own choices independently of what the market or the community dictates as ideal. The movement is, effectively, about emancipation to choose and flow with cultivation based on choices and practice based on those choices. The Urban Jungle, in the end, can be just a contextual and transitory detail in this emotional relationship between individuals and their plants. Examples: Philodendron bipennifolium offers dozens of forms. If I appreciate this species, why not bring the variations into my collection, investigate to acquire them, and focus my collector spirit on this personalized aspect of a specific species? If I appreciate the genus Anthurium, how can I transcend the (almost obvious) Anthurium veitchii and Anthurium warocqueanum? If I can break free from the norm and choose other, less hyped Anthurium species (as they say nowadays), can I grow the plant without needing to rely on others to explain how to cultivate it correctly? Has my background become sufficient for this movement? Can I detach myself from the norms? The episode 'Urban Jungle Collection Plants - Advanced Level', at the end, invites the Plant Lover to reflect and explore their own tastes, to conduct tests and choose plants that don't directly correspond to what is 'standard', dictated by the market or by the people/consumers themselves. The movement is about autonomy. In a cultural universe like the cultivation and collection of plants for Urban Jungle, it's perfectly possible to opt for a libertarian movement through practice, re-signification of values, and a change of mindset. Being an advanced collector has much more to do with an awareness of individual autonomy that may or may not transcend trends, fashions, the Urban Jungle itself, and the need for belonging. But, in the end, it always goes beyond that for those who want to become aware of it. The contours of a plant collection are endless, as nature grants us practically infinite possibilities and as collectors allow themselves to break free. That's it, my dear Plantoids!
