Led by Thomas LeDet (TCU), Harris Sebastian (UH), Eddie Gilmore (UH), Stephen Baker (TSU), the 1981 Jack Yates Lions defeat the Phillis Wheatley Wildcats in the Houston Astrodome en route to their schools first (UIL) University Interscholastic League State Championship appearance.
